2 April, JOHOR BAHRU – Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor Sdn Bhd (KPRJ) has made several initiatives to contribute and help ease the public’s burden following the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The contribution is in line with KPRJ’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) KPRJ-HOPE to help the community in need.
Among the initiatives taken through the Chief Minister of Johor and the Chairman of KPRJ are:
1) The Chief Minister’s contribution through the KPRJ of 4800 packages which include food, sanitisers and face masks at a total cost of RM150,000.00. A total of 3300 packages were handed to the Johor Bahru District Office, while another 1500 packages were handed to the Pontian District Office to be distributed to affected groups following the MCO announcement so they could carry on with their daily routine during this period.ADVERTISEMENT
2) The Chief Minister’s contribution through KPRJ of a huge allocation was given to 26 selected NGOs in the Johor State Parliament. This initiative is aimed to help those who have been struggling during the MCO period.
KPRJ is also concerned about the frontliners on duty during this pandemic and has stepped in to donate food to the staff of the Ministry of Health (MOH) at the Permai Hospital Johor Bahru Screening Center. A total of 3000 food packages were distributed by KPRJ representatives during the MCO period to assist frontliners who have been working virtually non-stop to address and contain the COVID-19 virus, especially in Johor.
In addition, KPRJ also provided 20,000 bottles of mineral water to the Royal Malaysia Police and the Malaysian Armed Forces.
Chief Executive Officer of KPRJ Dato’ Haji Mohd Noorazam bin Dato’ Haji Osman said: “As a Johor Government GLC, we are concerned about the welfare of the people of Johor who have been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. In light of this, a little help can go a long way in easing their burden while also helping to support the frontliners who are hard at work preventing the spread of COVID-19.”
He also hopes that the corporate sector, the GLC and all parties concerned will help to ensure our country successfully addresses the COVID-19 pandemic as soon as possible
